The history The Molja lighthouse is one of the most important landmarks of Ålesund, placed in the opening of the Brosundet channel going through the historic Art Nouveau town. As every other Norwegian lighthouse, Molja is now fully automated. This means it can be used for other purposes. Today the Molja Lighthouse is a very special hotel room - room 47 in Hotel Brosundet - the hotel that lies 400 metres further down in the channel. |

The interior In cooperation with the famous architects Snøhetta, this well-known landmark has been converted into very special hotel accommodation. There is a careful balance between history, the rustic feel of a genuine (and still active) lighthouse and modern facilities. The rooms are of course circular, just 3 meters across and on 2 floors. |

The surroundings
Right in the middle of town, but nevertheless in beautiful isolation on the breakwater. Close to everything but you hear only the sound of the waves and passing boats. Surprise your partner. Relax, unwind and watch the ships sail by. |

Food & drink
The breakfast can be served on on the lighthouse by personell from Hotel Brosundet, that will bring it over. With the location in town, you can choose to have dinner from a wide range of restaurants in close to the lighthouse, including a stay at the gourmet restaurant in Hotel Brosundet - Maki. |
