Travel advice for Norway

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making an exemption from travel advice against non-essential travel to all countries. The exemption covers EEA/Schengen countries from 15 July. On 15 June, the Foreign Ministry also introduced exemptions for travel to areas in the Nordic region where the infection rate remains within the Institute of Public Health’s criteria.

More information about the criteria and the countries/regions where travel restrictions have been relaxed can be found on the Institute of Public Health’s webpages. This overview will be updated regularly.

Letter from our CEO

Your health, safety, and wellbeing will always have a top priority in everything we do. As described in the joint statement from the World Health Organization and the World Tourism Organization, global tourism’s response to the COVID-19 disease needs to be measured and consistent, proportionate to the public health threat, and based on local risk assessment. At present, Norway is considered a low-risk country, with very few active cases of COVID-19 disease.

Nevertheless, we want to assure you that we are handling the situation with the greatest concern, and that we are taking all necessary precautions to keep you and our staff safe and healthy.

Following the recommendations and directives from the Norwegian National Health Services, and from the World Health Organization, we have implemented guidelines for our guests and employees at all of our properties, activities and excursions. All employees at 62*NORD have received training in how to handle the situation, and we have established executive action plans for everyone to follow, in case the situation develops further. We will continue to monitor the development closely, and act prompt and without hesitation to any changes in recommendations from the authorities.

What we do:

1.     Our staff is healthy when they attend to work. Everyone is encouraged to stay home from work in case they are feeling unwell – however weak and mild their symptoms may feel.

2.     We do not greet each other by handshakes as we welcome you to our hotels and adventures. We sincerely hope that our friendly smiles and personal care will make you feel warmly welcome.

3.     All guests are kindly asked to fill in a health form upon arrival. This is to confirm that you, and everyone in your household, are healthy and have no signs or symptoms of COVID-19.

4.     Should you feel symptoms of possible COVID-19 disease during your stay, we kindly ask you to contact the front desk by phone as soon as possible. We will ask you to please stay inside your room until medical personnel is notified, so we can plan the very best way to assist you and your travel companions.

5.     We will facilitate for safe distancing between our guests and staff. Please know that this will not affect our service or care. We will always do our utmost to ensure that you will get the very best service and experiences at our hotels and adventures.

6.     We will also facilitate for safe distancing between yourself and other guests at our hotels and activities. You will always be seated at a safe distance from each other in our restaurants and other shared spaces.

7.     High risk surfaces and contact points, such as door handles, restrooms, in common areas will be cleaned and disinfected whenever necessary, and several times throughout the day. The same applies for all equipment and gear used at our activities and adventures.

With this information we hope you will feel assured that your coming stay with us will be safe, comfortable – and unforgettable.

Kind regards
Vebjørn Andresen
