Across the archipelago
Three distinct places to sleep, each one with its own character and its own relationship to the landscape around it. A glacier at the door of one. The open sea at the other. Seven days that move between them slowly, by boat along Svalbard's west coast – with two guides who know this place intimately and a group small enough that nothing feels arranged in advance.
Seven days into the Arctic
Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival
Land in Longyearbyen and transfer to Basecamp Hotel. The evening begins with a guided walk through town – its mining history, its Arctic character, and the particular feeling of a settlement that exists at the edge of the habitable world. Dinner before the day ends.
Day 2 — Into the ice
By boat to Nordenskiöld Lodge, moving through open water with the mountains rising on either side. The lodge sits directly in front of the glacier that bears its name. Four rooms. No roads in. A wilderness welcome, and the quietest evening of the journey.
Day 3 — Glacier and water
A full day in the landscape around the lodge. A guided hike up onto the glacier in the morning – blue ice underfoot, silence above. In the afternoon, kayaks on the water, icebergs drifting past at arm's length.
Day 4 — Westward by boat
Leave Nordenskiöld Lodge by boat and head west along the coast into Isfjorden. The scale of the landscape shifts as the fjord opens out. A boat safari through one of Svalbard's most dramatic stretches of water, before arriving at Isfjord Radio as the light holds late into the evening.
Day 5 — Isfjord Radio
A day at one of the most remote outposts in Norway. Originally built as a weather and radio station in the 1930s, it now operates as a place to stay – isolated, wind-battered, and quietly extraordinary. Time in the Arctic spa, a coastal hike along Kapp Linné, and wilderness dining as the sun circles the sky.
Day 6 — Return
A morning hike along the coast before the boat returns to Longyearbyen. The evening ends at Gruvelageret – dinner in a former coal storage building, drinks included, one of the most atmospheric restaurants in the archipelago.
Day 7 — Departure
A final morning at the Trapper's Station with the huskies, then a transfer to the airport. Svalbard has a way of staying with you.

Where you'll stay
Basecamp Hotel in Longyearbyen is the right place to begin and end – grounded, well-run, and close to everything the town has to offer. Nordenskiöld Lodge is the centrepiece: off-grid, intimate, and built directly in front of a working glacier. Only four rooms. Isfjord Radio is unlike anywhere else – a former communications outpost on the western coast, restored with care and surrounded by nothing but tundra, sea, and sky. We know all three properties well, and know which rooms, which tables, and which moments to look forward to at each one.
Eat and drink
Arctic tastes
Every meal and drink throughout the journey is included – from field lunches on the glacier to a full evening at Gruvelageret. The cooking at Nordenskiöld Lodge and Isfjord Radio is built around Arctic ingredients handled simply and seriously, and the settings make everything taste better than it has any right to. The dinner at Gruvelageret on the final evening is a fitting end – a legendary Longyearbyen institution, with drinks included and no reason to rush.
