A family affair

Insider tips by 62°NORD

At Storfjord, every partnership tells a story. Our collaboration with Bollinger is born from shared values — family, craftsmanship, and an enduring respect for time-honoured traditions. As Norway’s only Bollinger Ambassador, we’re proud to pour a Champagne that reflects who we are: generous, rooted, and devoted to the quiet art of excellence.

Like us, Bollinger is family-owned, built on heritage, character, and craft passed down through generations — and guided for many years by one remarkable woman, Lily Bollinger. When her husband Jacques died in 1941, in the midst of war, Lily took the reins of the house and carried it forward with grace, determination, and vision. She travelled the world on her bicycle to introduce Bollinger to new audiences, personally tending to vineyards and cellars, all while protecting the integrity of the Champagne that bore her family’s name.

The natural companion

Commitment

Her approach was one of quiet strength — devoted to quality above all else and rooted in a sense of continuity that feels very close to home for us at Storfjord. Just as Lily saw Champagne as a way to bring people together, we see hospitality as an act of care — something handed down, protected, and refined over time. In every glass of Bollinger we pour, we celebrate not just the family who made it, but the enduring spirit of those, like Lily, who built something lasting through devotion, craft, and love.

That commitment mirrors our own. Every detail at Storfjord — from the slow-smoked brisket to the champagne you’re poured on arrival — is guided by people who care about legacy as much as experience. Bollinger’s devotion to quality, tradition, and family resonates deeply with us, and we’re proud to share their champagne as part of the Storfjord ritual of slowing down, gathering close, and celebrating life here in the fjords.

As Norway’s only Bollinger Ambassador, we are honoured to represent a house whose values align so naturally with our own. For us, a glass of Bollinger is more than a toast — it’s a meeting of families, traditions, and the quiet art of doing things the right way.

This winter, as you settle into the warmth of our dining room, the first pop of a Bollinger cork marks more than just the start of brunch — it marks the gathering of family, friends, and the joy of being together.
